A beautiful, walkable city
Lyon is such a beautiful city to just walk through. We spent hours exploring the cobblestone streets of Vieux Lyon. It's got history, great shops, and amazing food. The two rivers make it really picturesque. A great place for a city break.
Full of History
The architecture is stunning, especially the hidden passages, the traboules. It was cool finding these secret shortcuts between streets. The whole city feels like a museum, but a very lived-in one. Great for anyone who loves history and exploring.
So much green space!
A wonderful city for a relaxed trip. The Parc de la Tête d'Or was a highlight-so much space to walk around and even a free zoo. It's easy to get around on public transport. We found plenty of cozy spots to eat and just enjoy the day.
The food is incredible
Lyon definitely lives up to its reputation for food. We had a fantastic meal at a traditional bouchon-the quenelle was incredible. The city is full of great markets and bakeries too. It's a fantastic destination for anyone who loves to eat well.
Great artistic neighborhoods
Loved the creative feel of the Croix-Rousse district. The views from up there are amazing, and the whole area is full of independent shops and cool murals. It's a great city for wandering off the main path and finding interesting spots.
Amazing city views
The climb up to the Fourvière Basilica is totally worth it for the panoramic city view. You can see how the two rivers shape the city. It's a really walkable place with beautiful bridges and riverside paths. Found some great cafes too.
